Here are some shots I took this weekend when we had a little rail sesh with some friends. On this photo I really like how the subject is a little off center and the darkness of the background, it shows more of the scene and less of the rider.
Since you have the external flash, set it to fire rear-synch flash and go with a slow shutter speed- something like 1/15 or 1/8 sec, somewhere in there. You get some really cool motion shots going and then the flash fires to freeze the subject. Cool effect.
