Backcountry

Most of the time when we go anywhere out of bounds I don't bring my camera because it is just one more thing to hike with but this place was pretty accessible and I thought I could get some cool shots.
I spent a while crawling around in a couple trees to find somewhere where I could frame this wind lip from across the little gully. I was planning to shoot a few different angle but the skiers kinda flaked and only hiked this feature a few times so I really didn't nail the shot as good as I wanted.
The light on the skiers is ambient but I used a flash on a lower power to light up the branches in the foreground. Like the framing or not? In two of the shots that one little branch annoyed me at first but then after looking at it I think it kinda makes the shot look more natural. Pretty stoked because these are first backcountry shots I've taken.

I do like the framing, I think that it worked out pretty well. FOr image 2- I think if you cropped off the top, the image would be stronger. The empty sky is not doing anything for the image. Remember, if it is not adding to the image, it is taking away from it.

Image 3- too bad the skier is not the left a little more. Be nice to see all of him/her.

Nice work, keep shooting.
